Confessions of a Guerrilla Gardener

Hello. My name is Mrs. Cog and I am a compulsive gardener. It has been 4½ months since my last harvest.

I live in the woods, I like to make things grow and I suppose I have a dissident sneaky side that challenges me to do these things. Sometimes I think about stopping this behavior. The Money Wars

At some point in the future, those who have the privilege of writing the history about our present day events will find clever turns of phrase to describe our times. If those future scribes have any inkling of what actually transpired I imagine they will be able to clearly communicate these were the years of the ‘Money Wars’.

It certainly is an ingenious way to keep the world’s population passionately quarreling between themselves while the pirates, those who are actually looting the world, are busy scheming and directing the pillage. It is my sincerest hope it all ends on a positive note, one that entails some big unintended consequence for all the plotting parties involved. Continue reading The Money Wars

Rituals Known As Holidays

In my youth I always felt sympathy for people who didn’t celebrate some or any holidays, especially those days I held dearest. Birthdays were an occasion to feel special, a “my day” event that everyone received in their own honor. As I grew older, birthdays became a mile marker to chart my accomplishments and celebrate surviving another trip around the sun.

Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, New Year’s Eve & Day, Saint Patrick’s Day, the 4th of July, Memorial Day and Labor Day are each their own event with designated themes and appropriate behavior fully expected. We even have new holidays and events which have been crafted just for us modern people such as Superbowl Sunday and Black Friday. Continue reading Rituals Known As Holidays
