I would be very interested in any experiences or suggestions myself. I am too far South to get enough sun for solar 6 to 8 months out of the year, but 2 blocks from the ocean makes a wind turbine very appealing to consider.
You must be down under if by going south you lose sun. :))
Yes, we will be happy to update everyone as we gather information. It is nearly always windy here to some degree, so something is bound to work.

I’m about the same Latitude as New Zealand on the coast of Chile slightly above the town of Valdivia. That name always conjures up a Heinlen-esk name like “the Valdivian galaxy” along with my on-going feeling to be a stranger in a strange land. I’m the only “gringo” in this area that is traditional Mapuche indigenous tribal land and I am teaching their local carpenters the old ways of post and beam timber frame construction. When you want to learn – teach :>), and I’m as happy as if I had good sense.
It’s not really so much the angle of sunlight, it’s the weather pattern of cloud cover here as it is a region of Pacific temperate rain forest, the Southern flip of what’s similar to the coast outside of Seattle, Wa., even tho’ the Latitude is about the same as Mendocino, Ca., @ 42 degrees (-).
